| Ran easy at lunch. Ran my favorite trail from 22nd street south. I used to think it was a 6 mile round trip. found out it's actually closer to 7 miles. Pushed hard, especially on the uphill sections. 1:09 total time for the 6.9 (10:05 pace, 9:30 pace if you throw out the 5 minute x .25 mile walk to warmup). I know the return trip was at a much faster pace since it's downhill. Probably around 8:00-8:30. | Add Comment |

Easy run into work. Very sluggish, the legs were tired. Almost missed the train I was so slow.
Did another easy run at lunch. Thought it was super slow, but actually was a 9:00 pace, so slow, but not super slow.
Added a run back home. the run from the train station to home I pushed, sub 8 pace. | Add Comment |

Did the run, train, run thing this morning. pretty sluggish the first 4.5 miles. Not too bad the last 2.
Run home was ok, nothing special. Legs are tired from all the running this week, but I'll get over it. | Add Comment |

| Slacked off today. Had big plans to do hill repeats, did two and said that's enough. Just kind of messed around on the trails, went on some I hadn't been on, watched some rock climbers, wanted to clothesline a couple mountain bikers, etc., the usual stuff. | Add Comment |

| Had the first training run for the AntelopeIsland Buffalo Run. I was expecting around 5-6 people to show, no there were at least a dozen. We ran the Mountain View trail from the trailhead to the Lower Frary parking lot and back, about 11.5 miles. I felt great ande really pushed, but it didn't seem like I was. I've run that stretch of trail many times and have never been able to go below a 10 minute pace for the entire run. Today I averaged 9:20. Maybe this hill repat and speed work thing is starting to pay off, as well as the miles I'm putting in. After that run, my friend Meghan and I went to run the new trail that was recently cut on the White Rock trail. I wanted to GPS it since it will be part of the race next year. We just took it easy and covered another 8.5 miles. Weather was perfect, near 70, mostly cloudy, very nice. I took my wife out as well and she went for a horsey ride whiel all of us ran. All in all, a good day. BTW, registration for the AntelopeIsland Buffalo Run is now open. 25K, 50K, 50 mile trail run next March 28th. Go to www.buffalorun.org | Comments(5) |
